nbc4.com Pentagon Plans Weekend Test Of Biological Attack Response
ARLINGTON, Va. -- Weather permitting, a simulated biological attack will test local authorities' response, according to the Pentagon.
The Pentagon Force Protection Agency is conducting the test in cooperation with the Department of Homeland Security, the FBI and Arlington County. It will include the release of dust in a Pentagon parking lot and the cleanup of roadways, people and equipment after the release.
The dust contains a harmless bacterium found in water, soil and air, according to the Pentagon.
If bad weather prevents the simulation this weekend, it will be scheduled for June 16 and 17.
The Pentagon will provide more information at a Thursday afternoon briefing.
