In a turn of events many will find surprising, the new, militant, hardliner Iranian President reveals that the most important factor to him is the appearance of the Messiah for which Islam is awaiting! Not politics, but prophetic religion, occupies this newly-elected president's mind as he formulates his nation's policies.
NEWS BRIEF: "Iran president paves the way for arabs' imam return", Persian Journal, By Paul Hughes, Associated Press, November 17, 2005
" His call for the destruction of Israel may have grabbed headlines abroad, but it is President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's devotion to a mystical religious figure that is arousing greater interest inside Iran. In a keynote speech on Wednesday to senior clerics, Ahmadinejad spoke of his strong belief in the second coming of Shi'ite Muslims' 'hidden' 12th Imam. According to Shi'ite Muslim teaching, Abul-Qassem Mohammad, the 12th leader whom Shi'ites consider descended from the Prophet Mohammed, disappeared in 941 but will return at the end of time to lead an era of Islamic justice.
" 'Our revolution's main mission is to pave the way for the reappearance of the 12th Imam, the Mahdi," Ahmadinejad said in the speech to Friday Prayers leaders from across the country ... 'Therefore, Iran should become a powerful, developed and model Islamic society' ... Ahmadinejad refers to the return of the 12th Imam, also known as the Mahdi, in almost all his major speeches since he took office in August."
Most people would consider that a "hardliner" Muslim like President Ahmadinejad would be concerned with secular matters, or at least religious matters not related to some "mythically religious" Messianic expectation. Yet, it appears that this is exactly his frame of mind. He seems obsessed with the coming Messianic figure for all of Islam, the "12th Imam, the Mahdi".
Such Messianic expectations might just make this Iranian president feel invincible, which is the way he has been acting ever since taking office. I wonder which weighs more heavily in his mind: 1) Russian Scalar Weaponry superiority over anything the West has to offer, a technology placed behind Iran; 2) His belief in the coming of the Mahdi.
However, one factor also has occurred here. Does this "hardline" Iranian President believe that the reason Russia has achieved such a superiority over the West in weapons systems is because the imminent Mahdi has given such superiority to the Russians?
If this latter supposition is correct, we have a combination of military superiority and Messianic expectations which could plunge the world into the greatest conflagration the world has ever seen, the kind of terrific world war which could produce Antichrist.
