I have written several warnings about the popular C.S. Lewis (see "C.S. Lewis and Evangelicals Today" in the Evangelical section of the Apostasy Database at the Way of Life web site), and I want to emphasize the danger of this man further. Recently a reader sent a quote from one of Lewis's Narnia series, "The Last Battle," from the chapter "Further up and Further in." Note the following very carefully:
"Then I fell at his feet and thought, Surely this is the hour of death, for the Lion (who is worthy of all honour) will know that I have served Tash all my days and not him. Nevertheless, it is better to see the Lion and die than to be Tisroc of the world and live and not to have seen him. But the Glorious One bent down his golden head and touched my forehead with his tongue and said, Son, thou art welcome. But I said, Alas, Lord, I am no son of thine but the servant of Tash. He answered, Child, all the service thou hast done to Tash, I account as service done to me. Then by reason of my great desire for wisdom and understanding, I overcame my fear and questioned the Glorious One and said, Lord, is it then true, as the Ape said, that thou and Tash are one? The Lion growled so that the earth shook (but his wrath was not against me) and said, It is false. Not because he and I are one, but because we are opposites, I take to me the services which thou hast done to him. For I and he are of such different kinds that no service which is vile can be done to me, and none which is not vile can be done to him. Therefore if any man swear by Tash and keep his oath for the oath's sake, it is by me that he has truly sworn, though he know it not, and it is I who reward him. And if any man do a cruelty in my name, then, though he says the name Aslan, it is Tash whom he serves and by Tash his deed is accepted. Dost thou understand, Child? I said, Lord, thou knowest how much I understand. But I said also (for the truth constrained me), Yet I have been seeking Tash all my days. Beloved, said the Glorious One, unless thy desire had been for me thou shouldst not have sought so long and so truly. For all find what they truly seek."
TWO DAMNABLE HERESIES ARE TAUGHT HERE
Lewis is teaching damnable false doctrine here, and it is even more wicked, in that it is intended for the indoctrination of children.
First, according to Lewis, those who sincerely serve the devil (Tash) are actually serving God (Aslan) and will eventually be accepted by God. That is the heresy of universalism, and many hold to this false doctrine, believing that God will somehow receive unbelievers and followers of false religions into Heaven even though they do not know Jesus Christ in this life.
When I interviewed the head of the New Testament department at Serampore University (founded by William Carey in India) years ago, he told me the same thing. I asked him whether the Hindus will be accepted by God if they are sincere in their religion, and he replied, "Certainly."
Well, the Bible says certainly not! Ephesians chapter two tells us the condition of every person outside of regenerating faith in Jesus Christ. He is dead in trespasses and sins (v. 1), controlled by and living according to the working of the devil (v. 2), a child of disobedience (v. 2), dominated by the flesh (v. 3), by nature the child of wrath (v. 3), without Christ (v. 12), an alien and stranger from the covenant of God (v. 12), without hope (v. 12), WITHOUT GOD IN THE WORLD (v. 12), far off from God (v. 13).
In fact, the Lord Jesus Christ had already settled this matter long before the penning of Ephesians. In His conversation with Nicodemus, the Lord Jesus said categorically, "Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God" (John 3:3). Nicodemus was a very sincere and religious Jew, and if any category of person could have gone to heaven without being born again, it would have been people like him. Jesus Christ said that it will not happen.
Furthermore, Lewis is teaching that salvation can be achieved by works and religious seeking, and that is a false gospel that is cursed of God in the book of Galatians.
"I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed" (Gal. 1:6-8).
There is only one true gospel, and that is salvation through repentance and faith in the blood of Jesus Christ; but there are many false gospels, and all of them claim that a man can be saved in some sense by good works.
Beware of the dangerous false teacher C.S. Lewis; and beware also of his friend, the Roman Catholic J.R. Tolkien.
For more about this see the articles "Tolkien and the Lord of the Rings" (Feb. 5, 2002) and "C.S. Lewis and Evangelicals Today" (Jan. 4, 2002) at the Way of Life web site. See the Daily Listings section under the date of the article.

edited from 'The Last Trumpet'
On December 9th, 2005, a major Disney movie, based on the first book of The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis, opened in theaters across the country. The movie was such a hit that it took in nearly 24,000,000 dollars on opening day. One of the reasons for its success is because “Christian” churches of all denominations filled the theaters in droves as they arrived by the busload to view the movie based on the first chronicle of Narnia, known as The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Many church pastors and church leaders are declaring that the movie is Christian and contains Christian themes and has a type of Christ in it. Many churches are also using The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe as Sunday school material for teaching the young people of their congregations.
In short, the story is about a little girl named Lucy, who hides in a wardrobe while playing a game. As she looks into the mirror of the wardrobe, she enters through the mirror into a strange new land called Narnia. Soon she is having tea with a faun, which is a mythological creature that has the body of a man but the horns, legs and tail of a goat. There are also talking animals and other creatures in the seven Chronicles of Narnia, such as Bacchus, the god of wine and drunken revelry; the Maenads, which were orgiastic wild and frenzied women; a witch who casts a spell to cause perpetual winter; and a lion named Aslan. When Aslan roars and shows his teeth, winter immediately turns to spring. Aslan also faces the rising sun in the East, and as he shakes his mane, bright rays of light are sent forth from him. The controversy in the movie is between the lion and the witch.
Church leaders have become so caught up in this movie that in some cases they have turned their sanctuaries into the land of Narnia. One example is the Bellaire United Methodist Church in Houston, Texas. Those who arrive for Sunday church must walk through a wardrobe and brush past coats to emerge into Narnia, where pastor Valerie Hudson gives them a Narnia sermon. Pastor Robert Creech of University Baptist Church in Houston is basing all of his December sermons on Narnia themes. We also know that Dr. James Dobson’s Focus on the Family organization is promoting these works of C.S. Lewis for a suggested donation.
Are the Chronicles of Narnia a Christian work, and was C.S. Lewis a true Christian? Is Aslan, the roaring lion, really a type of Christ? The Bible does call our Lord Jesus Christ “the lion of the tribe of Judah”, but Jesus is never presented as a roaring lion. We do, however, read in I Peter 5:8 as follows: “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.”
The witches know that if they present witchcraft as having two sides, they can claim to be on the good side fighting the bad side and thus pull people into the craft, or at least be influenced positively by it. That is the mistake “Christians” make, and it is a big mistake. They pick out the hero in a witches’ fable and make a type of Christ out of it, but it is all really witchcraft and an abomination of the first magnitude. Clive Staples Lewis, who was born in Belfast, Nothern Ireland, was not a Christian. His so-called “Christian” books can be found in “Christian” bookstores and occult bookstores as well. The works of Lewis are required reading for neophyte witches, because these books firmly root the concepts and mindset of witchcraft in the beginner or neophyte members of the craft. The writings of C.S. Lewis are so clearly antichrist that only spiritual blindness could prevent one from seeing it. Let us now look at some of the words of Lewis from his so-called Christian books.
In the C.S. Lewis book The World’s Last Night and Other Essays on pages 98-99, Lewis said, “Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place…certainly the most embarrassing verse in the Bible. The one exhibition of error and the one confession of ignorance grew side by side. That they stood thus in the mouth of Jesus himself and were not merely placed thus by the reporter, we surely need not doubt…the facts, then, are these: that Jesus professed himself (in some sense) ignorant, and within a moment showed that he really was so.” What rank blasphemy from this pseudo-Christian, who was actually a witch and an illuminist, and a member of the coven known as the Thelemic Order of the Golden Dawn! How can he get away with calling our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ ignorant?
In his book Reflections on the Psalms on page 129, C.S. Lewis said, “…as I believe, Christ…fulfilled both paganism and Judaism.” In a biography of Lewis, he was quoted as saying, “I had some ado to prevent joy and myself from relapsing into paganism in Attica! At Daphni it was hard not to pray to Apollo the Healer. But somehow one didn’t feel it would have been very wrong – would have only been addressing Christ sub-species Apollinis.”
For those who would like to know more about this subject, I have written a powerful tract entitled “The Witchcraft of the Narnia Chronicles.” This tract is available, free of charge, and in quantities for the asking, but please help us with postage if you can. The tract is also available in camera-ready form on our website. Please help us to get the word out. We must help people to break free of gross deception.

From the March 2006 issue of the Last Trumpet Newsletter:
The use of The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis as a Gospel is a damnable heresy, and anyone who has an ounce of discernment and truly looks at this subject cannot miss seeing the grave spiritual danger in fantasizing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The sad fact is that almost all of nominal and fundamental united Christendom has endorsed and carried on a love affair of spiritual fornication with this weird Narnia story. As a former witch saved by the Lord Jesus, I can see at a glance that this masterpiece of Satan is rank blasphemy. The Narnia chronicles are a blend of Greek, Roman, Norse, and Celtic witchcraft. We will now look at a brief sample of some of the books of The Chronicles of Narnia.
In the first book, The Magician’s Nephew, Aslan the lion creates beings to inhabit the land of Narnia. These include wood gods, river gods, fauns, and satyrs. These are presented as the good creatures. Fauns are deities with the bodies of men and the horns, ears, and legs of a goat. The Wiccan principality known as Pan is an example of a faun. In Wiccan witchcraft there is a well-known witches’ chant that starts out with the words “great god Pan, great god Pan, half of goat and half of man.” In witchcraft, Pan is the principality of the mind and causes panic, pandemonium, and nervous disorders. He is also the nature-god who is worshipped with lust and fertility rituals. How could Aslan be presented as a type of Christ when he created such creatures as these? Why, as a type of Christ, would Aslan create satyrs, which are half animal and half man and are creatures of sexual lust. From the word “satyr”, we get the word satyriasis, which the dictionary defines as a condition that causes a man to have uncontrollable sexual lust.
In the third chronicle of Narnia, entitled The Horse and His Boy, we find the heroine Aravis asking her father for permission to go into the woods to do secret sacrifice to Zardeena, Lady of the Night. Aslan the lion also sends one character in the book to the temple of the evil god Tash to be healed while standing before the altar of Tash who is a type of Satan.
Book four is entitled Prince Caspian, and in it we find Aslan, the type of Christ, leading a wild woodland dance along with Bacchus, the god of drunkenness and orgies, and the Maenads, who are orgiastic women that also tear apart live animals and humans and eat the raw meat of their victims. This fourth book also contains spells on how to summon up tree spirits with so-called white magic. All such things are strictly forbidden in Deuteronomy 18:9-12.
In the fifth book called The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, the character Lucy summons Aslan by chanting a spell which is found in the Magician’s Book of Spells. When Lucy is surprised that the spell worked, Aslan tells her, Do you think I wouldn’t obey my own rules?” Here let it be noted that a book of personal spells used by witches is known as the Book of Shadows, and Aslan, the type of Christ is the author of this book of spells referred to in this fifth chronicle.
In the sixth book called The Silver Chair, centaurs are teaching astrology. There is also a blood-letting ritual which Aslan uses to resurrect the dead body of King Caspian.
In the seventh book entitled The Last Battle, the character who symbolizes the Antichrist finds that he was tricked into playing that role and ends up in heaven with Aslan. Another character, who was the faithful servant of the evil god Tash, is confused when he finds himself in heaven. Aslan says to him, “Child, all the service thou hast done to Tash, I account as service done to me.” This is the message that all religions lead to heaven.
The second book or chronicle is, of course, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, but all of these chronicles of Narnia are one story. Strangely enough, while the world at large recognizes The Chronicles of Narnia as witchcraft, “Christians” think it was written for them. (19) Here let it be noted that Good News Publishers have published a “Christian” tract promoting The Chronicles of Narnia entitled “The Secret of the Wardrobe.” I will now quote a portion from that tract as follows: “Wrong will be right, when Aslan comes in sight, At the sound of his roar, sorrows will be no more, When he bares his teeth, winter meets its death, And when he shakes his mane, we shall have spring again. The tract goes on to say, “As the saying goes, two sons of Adam and two daughters of Eve will one day sit on the four thrones at Cair Paravel and rule as Kings and Queens in Narnia. Now that the four children are here, could it be that Narnia’s deliverance is at hand?” (20)
Before we move on, I feel urged by the Holy Ghost to appeal to any pastors who have supported The Chronicles of Narnia and are reading this newsletter. Repent and admit to your congregation that you were wrong. They will have the utmost respect for you if you do. Do all that you can to expel witchcraft from your church, and I will do all that I can to help you. Do it now while there is still a little time to make things right. People need the same Gospel that was preached on the day of Pentecost by the Apostle Peter. Remember Acts 19:18-20 which says, “And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds. Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver. So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.” May there be a great burning of the C.S. Lewis books is my deepest and sincerest prayer!

Unfortunately, I have a "christian" friend who uses this Narnia movie as a witnessing tool. Besides the fact that it is utterly false teaching. The Question I pose to him and any who do the same is this. Why would you use a fictional story to try to explain the most important truth a person will ever hear?!?!?! This is a copy of a message I sent him and other members of the ministry team we are part of.
[glow=red,2,300]Excuses[/glow]
Mark 16:15, And he said unto them, "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." First, I’d like to thank you for the opportunity to be a part of the Ministry team. As you can see by the title, I’m going to be dealing with excuses. Not the excuses that unbelievers give to avoid salvation, but rather the excuses we as Christians give for not sharing Christ with others. We have been commanded by the King of kings , but we see unsaved people daily and say nothing!! Why? I’ve heard many excuses and, I’m sorry to say, I’ve used them myself. We say things like:
“I wouldn’t know what to say.” Luke 12:11-12, 11And when they bring you to the synagogues, and to magistrates, and powers, take you no thought how or what thing you shall answer, or what you shall say: 12For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what you ought to say. We don’t have to know what to say, The holy Spirit will give us the words right then. God is not interested in eloquent speeches, or in waiting for us to figure out how to say the words right so that we don’t “sound dumb” NEWS FLASH: It’s not about you! “I’m waiting to be lead.” Mark 16:15, And he said unto them, "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature." Understand, Go is a taking action verb! The Holy Spirit doesn’t have to lead us to do what God has commanded us to do. He is there to give us strength and to teach us. “I will…as soon as I get a chance.” II Tim 4:2, Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. Now is the time! We have no guarantee there will even be a tomorrow. These lost souls are some ones brother, sister, father, mother, son or daughter.....maybe yours. The next time you see them could be your last chance. “Man, I don’t want them to think I’m some sort of religious freak.” Rom 1: 15-17, 15So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also. 16For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. 17For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. When ever we feel these excuses coming on, remember: John 15:14, "Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.” We don’t have the luxury of making excuses. When we wait we offend God himself! There is no trouble too great, no humiliation too deep, no suffering too severe, no love too strong, no labor too hard, no expense too large, but that it is worth it, if it is spent in the effort to win a soul!

I love that YHWH has given us knowlege of every single End Time Apostasy that Satan uses through His WORD. The 'Narnia Chronicles' fall under the catagory of 'cunningly devised fables', which Paul, throught the Holy Spirit, warned all believers of the truth:
2 Timothy 4:1-4
I charge [thee] therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away [their] ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
I like what you had to say about excuses. Recall the Parable of the Wedding in Matthew Chapter 22. Here we see a man found at the feast without a wedding garment. When the king came and asked why he was there without a garment " he was speechless." This is how many will be when they are confronted with the truth that they have rejected IN THAT DAY. They will stand before The King speechless and ashamed. They will be cast out into utter darkness.

Matthew 22: 1-141And Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said, 2"The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son, " 3"And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come. " 4"Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage. " 5"But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise: " 6"And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them. " 7"But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city. " 8"Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy. " 9"Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage. " 10"So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.
" 11"And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment: " 12"And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. " 13"Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. " 14"For many are called, but few are chosen.I love this parable, Because it spells out The Great Commision so well. In the text the word "bid" can also be translated to "compell", which says it even better. I do have trouble understanding verse 14. If you call someone, isn't that choosing them?

Many are called to the truth by YHWH through His Spirit. These are those called to the marrige feast. This calling is the Holy Spirit convicting us of sin, and leading us to the example of Christ. This is the 'seed' planted in the Parable of the Sower in Matthew Chapter 13. Then there is the condition of the 'ground' we must deal with as individuals. This is the 'narrow path'.
When the work of repentance and faithfull obedience come in,to the 'new man'- this is our 'wedding garment'. This is what we are required to keep white and pure- white raiment without spot.
And others save with fear, pulling [them] out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. Jude 1:23
Those 'Chosen' are Yahweh's elect. Look back at the man without a wedding garment- he stood out like a sore thumb! There was nowhere for Him to hide. He had been called, but failed to PREPARE himself, thus he was rejected and cast out. Being called is no guarantee of salvation! We must overcome sin and strive to 'be perfect', to 'be holy'- this is only possible with Christ in us!
Let's look at some scripture concerning this garment, that we purify with the 'fullers soap' of the WORD of Yahweh through His Spirit:
I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and [that] the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. Revelation 3:18
Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy. Revelation 3:4
He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. Revelation 3:5
After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb. Revelation 7:9-10
Since all the others at the Wedding had their garments we can only assume that this man was also given oone when he was called. He either soiled it and took it off (backslide), or simply did not have it on when the time came to enter in (foolish virgin!). There are many ways this can occur.
Pray always that We be found worthy to feast with Yeshua at the Wedding Supper of The Lamb!
